Help Us Improve the Code-Quests Experience

We’re giving our community a chance to shape the future of Code-Quests! Your mission? Audit, redesign, and upgrade the end-to-end user experience — from signup to quest submission — and make it smoother, clearer, and more enjoyable for all users.

Whether you're a UX researcher, product thinker, or UI design wizard, this challenge is for you.

🧩 What’s the Challenge?

Redesign and enhance the core user journey on Code-Quests:

  1. Signup & Onboarding Flow

  2. Quest Listing Page (showing both types of quests)

  3. Quest Details Page

  4. Quest Registration Flow

  5. Quest Submission Flow

You’ll be expected to:

  1. Identify friction points in the current experience

  2. Propose better UX flows and ideas

  3. Deliver polished, ready-to-implement UI designs

💡 Platform Context

We offer two types of quests on Code-Quests:

💼 Hiring Quest

A challenge-driven recruitment process that helps companies hire top developers through real-world tasks and transparent evaluation. It focuses on skill-based selection, not resumes.

🧪 Task-Based Quest

A competitive way for companies to get specific coding tasks or MVP features built. Developers compete to solve real problems, and the best solution is selected and implemented.

🖌️ Your UX/UI Design Should:

  1. Make the difference between Task-Based and Hiring Quests very clear

  2. Improve clarity, engagement, and usability across all flows

  3. Keep consistency with the existing design system (we provide the Figma file)

  4. Be easily implementable by developers (clean structure, components, auto-layout)

🧠 What You’ll Get

We’ll provide you with:

  1. ✅ Figma file of the current platform design

  2. ✅ Access to a discussion group for questions and feedback

📦 What to Submit

  1. 🎨 A full Figma file showing:

    1. Updated versions of the 5 core flows/screens

    2. New UI components or elements (if applicable)

  2. 🎥 A short video walkthrough (2–5 mins) explaining:

    1. UX issues you found

    2. Your reasoning for design changes

  3. 📝 (Optional) UX audit notes, wireframes, or flow diagrams

🏆 Evaluation Criteria

  1. UX Audit Quality : Did you identify real problems and friction points?

  2. Problem-Solving Approach : Are your redesigns thoughtful and user-centered?

  3. UI Design Quality : Is the visual design clean, modern, and consistent with our brand?

  4. Quest-Type Clarity : Is it easy to distinguish between Task-Based and Hiring Quests?

  5. Implementation Readiness : Is your Figma well-structured for devs to build from?

  6. Communication & Clarity : Does your video clearly explain your thinking and design decisions?

⚠️ Submission Rules

  1. Use only free and open-source assets unless you design your own

  2. If selected, you agree to transfer usage rights of your design

  3. Designs below 80% will receive feedback but won’t be used
